At least Eight persons lost their lives in the last two days due to several landslides across the nation. Two persons were killed in landslides in Kaski, three in Parbat, three in Tehrathum and one in Pyuthan, while three persons went missing in Mugu and one in Kaski after local rivers swept them away.
Shova Poudel, 33, of Pokhara-Lekhnath Metropolitan died after landslide swept away the kitchen of her house early this morning. Her house is on the bank of the Seti River. She was throwing water that had entered into her kitchen from the flooded Seti River when the landslide struck. Police said Shova’s body was recovered 100 metres from her house.Fourteen-year-old Tanka Chhetry of Galyang Municipality, Syangja, died after mudslide struck the house belonging to his uncle, Tara Pati Adhikari, at Parsyangpakha, Pokhara, this morning. Police said Tanka took his last breath in the course of treatment in Fishtail Hospital, Pokhara.
