Two unknown assailants shot and killed construction businessman Sharad Kumar Gauchan near Om Shanti Chowk at Shantinagar in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu on Monday afternoon, Police said. Gauchan is the Chairman of Federation of Contractors' Associations of Nepal (FCAN). Baneshwor Metropolitan Police Circle DSP Ravi Kumar Paudel said Guachan was shot nearby Om Shanti Chowk of Shantinagar area at around 3:15 pm. He was then rushed to Minbhawan-based Civil Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:26pm, said Paudel.
