Nepali Congress and Naya Shakti Nepal have agreed for alliance in Gorkha district in the upcoming elections. NC will support Baburam Bhattarai, whose party has recently quit the left alliance over disagreement on candidacy in Gorkha-2, in the constituency as per the agreement reached between Bhattarai and NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba at Baluwatar on Saturday. Bhattarai had won from Gorkha-2 in both the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections but the left alliance refused to field him from the constituency with CPN (Maoist Center) staying firm. The left alliance will field Narayan Kaji Shrestha of Maoist Center there.
