Political parties’ representatives and leaders will not be allowed to put up their flexis during the Dasara Sarannavaratri ustavams held at the Sri Rajarajeswari Devi Devasthanams at Dargamitta here.
The coordination committee members at a meeting here on Saturday unanimously decided that the political flexis should be avoided in the best interests of the sanctity of the temple surroundings during the celebrations. Briefing mediapersons later, Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy said that the common public would be ensured a smooth darshan by limiting the visiting hours for VIP pass holders between 12 noon and 1 p.m. and after 9 p.m.
The decision on political posters and flexis had been taken considering the fact that countless such flexis caused inconvenience to the devotees in the past by occupying most of the space in the temple surroundings.
