Speaking to the Post after winning the show, Gurung said, “I won this competition because I didn’t give up. I was eliminated in the first round of this very show three years ago. But, I didn’t let it discourage me.” He added, “I know I might come across many challenges in my musical career, but I think I will be able to face it as I have undergone rigorous training during this show.”
Along with the title, Gurung also won a Yamaha Scooter and an opportunity to visit the UK, as part of a musical trip. To win the title, Gurung beat two other finalists, Sagar Ale, who was announced the first runner-up, and Priya Gurung.
Speaking at the finale, Rabindra Mishra of Sajha Party said, “Subash is great example of how you can succeed in life through persistence and perseverance. His story teaches us to never give up.”
Big Fm, the organiser of the show, donated the entire proceeds collected from the event to Child Labour Minimize Project of Pokhara Chamber of Commerce.
